Before you start a bootcamp there are certain things you need to know. How intensive this course can be and what is expected of you and the advice I can give you to make it the best time and learning experience.
The first thing you should know is the amount of time you will spend time behind a computer at first you will think oh the amount of time spent behind a computer will only be the hours spent during class. You are quite mistaken you spend a full day and night behind you’re computer to code or do you’re homework.

The other issue is stress from struggling with problems that you may face, what I mean by this is there are times that you will face a problem and wont be able to solve this within the first hour, it can take a day or two and it can be frustrating and stressful specially if you have a deadline.
I as a person know how frustrating it can be when you are stuck on a problem and don’t know how to solve it and you keep asking for help, and not be able to move forward. It’s a daily struggle mainly because you set goals for the day and if you aren’t able to get to that goal it can be frustrating.

If you think bootcamp is only coding you are quite mistaken homework is going to take up your time after class along with writing articles. I know what your thinking, homework after having done 8 hours of coding?
Yes, essentially it’s there to help you to go over the things you’ve learnt that day and better your writing skills and being able to explain what you learnt to someone who isn’t familiar with coding.

It takes time to get used to, especially if you’re used to going home after a day of coding and just relax and not have to think about homework or writing articles.
In a way it’s a good thing because you get to revise what you’ve learnt that day or week and understand it more clearly. It is in fact never fun to have homework after a day of struggling with code.
What’s also part of the bootcamp is working in teams, yes some people don’t like working in groups or partners even and I was one of them but at the end of the day if you work in a company or a team of people you need to be able to work with someone else.

Obviously there are pro’s and con’s to working with people. The pro’s are that you have more then one brain to use to solve code or a situation that may present it self while your coding. You can also use that other person to talk to about a certain solutions or problems you may be facing and try to find a solution to the problems.
The con’s are that you need to make a clear plan on who’s working on what file, be able to respect your partner if they are slower in certain tasks and may not understand what needs to be done.

As this is an intensive course of 3 months there are times when you feel less motivated and feel demotivated when there are weeks that are slower and you may not understand what’s going on around you regarding code.
This bootcamp can be draining mentally because you are learning everything in 3 months then what other people learn in a year. The key is to not give up and keep going which is why it’s very important to have a support group around you that motivates you and helps you through the times when you feel like giving up.
I got lucky enough to have that support group and that’s what keeps me going its also good to talk to your teacher if you need to have a pep talk and tell you the amount of progress you’ve shown in a short period of time
